KHS Swimmer Brings Home TWO State Championships

Congratulations to Kings High School Junior, Maya Schweikert who brought home two gold medals from last weekend's Ohio High School Athletic Association State Swimming Championship in Canton, Ohio.
Maya became the first-ever Kings swimmer to win two state championships in one year! She was the defending State Champion in the 100 Backstroke and broke the State Record this year to win again. She also won a state championship in the 100 Butterfly. After her gold-winning performances, Maya was named the Division One Female Performer of the Year. As a junior, this is Maya's third state championship!
In other state swimming news, ten Kings swimmers ventured to Canton. The Girls 200 Medley Relay (Barrett Hogan, Madi VanSchoyck, Brynn Zistler, and Maya Schweikert) finished 13th overall in the State, and the Boys 200 Medley Relay (Jaxxon Cukovecki, Santiago Garcia-Izquieroo, Sam Shrimplin, and Greg Zubkov) finished 15th overall. Abe Malavich and Allisson Cukovecki played an important part of the team as this year's alternates.
