Update on Reopening
Dear Parents/Guardians,
First of all, I would like to thank you for your patience as we make plans to re-start school. I know that you have been waiting for more information regarding Option 2 - Online Learning.
We have been going through hundreds of questions from parents. One of the most prevalent questions of the Online Model is the concern of students not having a connection with a Kings teacher. Because of this, we are evaluating more models to see if they are feasible.
We will hold a special virtual Board of Education Meeting next Thursday, August 6 at 5:30 p.m. where I will detail possible options for Online Learning and answer the questions submitted through the parent survey. If you would still like to submit a question click here.
Additionally, in order to prepare our teachers, students, and buildings to accommodate potential changes in the plan, we will be discussing a potential “soft opening” of school beginning Monday, August 24, and a full opening on Tuesday, September 8.
A soft opening allows us to bring in small groups of students at a time to adjust to their new surroundings and get to meet their teachers. It will also allow time for our teachers to be fully prepared for the upcoming school year in regards to remote learning if needed. If implemented, more information will be provided on how this will work.
Again, thank you so much for bearing with us as we work diligently to create a plan that is safe and allows for options that meet the needs of our students and staff.
