Thoughtexchange #3 Results Are In
Posted on: November 16, 2018
The results are in from the third Thoughtexchange on the final draft of the Kings Master Facilities Plan. In the latest Thoughtexchange, we asked our community to tell us their thoughts and questions regarding the building draft.
The main takeaways from this process include that the community generally likes the building plan. There is concern whether the current building plan will be suitable for additional growth and costs being fiscally responsible. This feedback is important and our Long Range Facility Planning Team is taking all of the thoughts into consideration.
Mr. Ackermann recommended to the Board of Education this week to wait until August or November of 2019 to run a bond issue for the new building plan. Waiting will allow the District Team to perform due diligence with assuring we are being cost-effective and building for the future. The Team will focus on soil samples, road improvements, assuring we have enough square footage at each building, pedestrian traffic, stormwater retention, permitting, and swing space. Additionally, we are working on an FAQ document that addresses some of the most prevalent questions from our community. We will be sharing that very soon.
