Kings Transportation Update
This week, Kings parents were notified of an update regarding transportation for the 2023-2024 school year.
The Kings Board of Education approved a new transportation model at this week's meeting. Beginning in August, the District will be implementing a 2.5-tier transportation model. This decision will create an opportunity for improved staffing levels resulting in less disruption in service. The new model also allows for efficiencies resulting in over $800,000 in cost savings over the next 5 years.
The new transportation model will require an adjustment to school start times at all buildings. We recognize this may be a change to family schedules and routines so we wanted you to be aware of this change in advance so that families can plan accordingly. Your child’s bus pickup and dropoff times will be available at the beginning of August.
School start/end times for each building for the 2023-24 school year are expected to be the following:
Building | Start | End |
Kings High School | 7:30 a.m. | 2:00 p.m. |
Kings Junior High | 7:30 a.m. | 2:00 p.m. |
JF Burns Elementary | 8:25 a.m. | 2:55 p.m. |
