Kings Seeking New Treasurer
Kings Treasurer, Shaun Bevan has accepted the position of Treasurer for the Mason City School District. Mr. Bevan has served as Treasurer for 3 years, and he will begin his new position at Mason on October 9, 2017.
Under Mr. Bevan's leadership, the district has received two Auditor of State awards, refinanced bonds to save the taxpayers money, and planned for the financial future of the district, including passing an operating levy. "Shaun has played an instrumental role in our district as we've strived to attain fiscal responsibility while also creating a high quality educational experience for our kids and families. We appreciate his valuable service to Kings Schools and wish him the best of luck in his new position," said Superintendent, Tim Ackermann.
The Kings Board of Education has been proactive in determining the process to find the next Treasurer for the school district. They interviewed Treasurer search firms at the September 12 Board meeting. In an effort to create a smooth transition, the Board plans to begin the search process immediately and hope to have a new Treasurer hired by the end of October.
“The Treasurer position is one of vital importance, and the Board will work diligently to find and hire the next Treasurer in a timely manner,” said Board President, Robert Hinman.
