Kings Named a Best Community for Music Education 2017
The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) has announced the 2017 Best Communities for Music Education. This year, 527 districts across the nation are being recognized with this distinction, and the Kings Local School District was designated as a district that demonstrates an exceptionally high commitment and greater access to music education.
The Best Communities for Music Education program, now in its 18th year, recognized outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parent, students, and community leaders who have made music education part of the curriculum. The designation takes on added significance this year with new research showing strong ties between k-12 school students who actively participate in school music education programs and overall student success.
Kings Superintendent, Tim Ackermann said, “We are so fortunate to be able to provide our students with a high-quality music program. We thank our community for supporting us so that we can continue to offer those programs. I am very proud of our talented student body and dedicated teachers!"
The NAMM Foundation applauds districts and schools who set the bar in offering students access to comprehensive music education.
