Kings Hires New South Lebanon Elementary Principal
The Kings Local School District is proud to announce the hiring of Mrs. Belinda Atkins as South Lebanon Elementary School Principal.
Mrs. Atkins’ contract was approved at the Kings Board of Education Work Session on Tuesday, April 10. She comes to Kings from Palm Harbor, Florida. However, Mrs. Atkins is no stranger to the Cincinnati/NKY area. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Northern Kentucky University. Additionally, she began her career at the Center Director for Youthland Academy Preschool. She also taught fourth grade Reading Recovery at West Clermont.
Since 2006, Mrs. Atkins has been serving the Pinellas County School District. She has served as Ozona Elementary Principal since 2014. Additionally, Atkins has served as an assistant principal, instructional coach, reading coach and a third-grade teacher.
Kings Superintendent, Tim Ackermann said, “Belinda brings a wealth of experience with her from her previous positions and will be a great fit at SLE.”
Mrs. Atkins has been married to her husband, Kevin for 26 years. They have two children, Nathan who is 20 and Isabella who is 14. Atkins said, “I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a tradition of excellence. I'm very passionate about education and I look forward to partnering with the staff and families of South Lebanon Elementary to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and high-quality school experience. I am so excited to join the Kings Local Family!”
Mrs. Atkins will begin her tenure at Kings on August 1, 2018.
