Kings Food Service Will Continue to Provide FREE Meals
Recent communication has been received by the United States Department of Agriculture (U.S.D.A.) that they are approving the extension for FREE meals for all students. This unprecedented move is part of the unwavering commitment of the U.S.D.A. to ensure that all children have access to nutritious meals as the nation recovers from the COVID19 pandemic.
ALL students will continue to be provided FREE breakfast and FREE lunch meals until the close of the 2020-2021 school year or until the expiration of the federally declared public health emergency (COVID19) or until federal funding is depleted, whichever is earlier.
Students that are enrolled for In-School instructions, as well as students that have chosen Distant Online Learning will both have the free meal opportunity. For all Online Learners (Virtual Knights, Online Knights, APEX Knights) the Kings Food Service Department will be providing a drive-up meal pickup program. Meal packs will be provided that will include a week of breakfast meals and lunch meals, that will include a variety of fresh and ready to prepare foods. We would like to ask that families preorder meals; an order form will be emailed monthly to all of our virtual learners.
We encourage families to continue with completing the free and reduced meal applications. These applications will need to be on file in order to be considered for eligibility for other benefits (i.e., school fees). Click here to complete the free and reduced meal application. Or, you can print an application from our school website and send it to 1797 King Avenue, Kings Mills, OH 45034. Copies can also be picked up in the school building offices.
Our District is thankful for the continued support of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and to the Ohio Department of Education for providing this opportunity for the students.
