Kings Baseball and Softball Fields Retired

After decades of unforgettable memories, championships, hard-fought games, and community pride, the time has come to bid farewell to our beloved varsity softball and baseball fields.
Recently, a ceremony was held for the Kings baseball and softball fields. Attendees were invited to run the bases for the last time and take home a little piece of Kings history – dirt from either home plate or the pitcher's mound.
Both fields have been more than just a playing surface. They have been a home to unforgettable memories, dramatic wins, tough losses, championship runs, and countless moments of growth, resilience, and pride. For years, it has echoed with the cheers of fans, the crack of the bat, and the heartbeat of Knight spirit.
A special thank you to Coach Gary Schearing, the namesake of the Kings baseball field, for all the time, energy, and passion he has put into this field!
We salute all players, coaches, families, and supporters who made these fields places where hard work met tradition, and where young men and women became leaders.
Check out the photos from both ceremonies.
