KHS 2022 National Merit Commended Scholars
Posted on: September 30, 2021

Two Kings High School seniors have been commended in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. While these students won’t continue in the National Merit Scholarships competition next spring, they’re being recognized for the exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the qualifying test used for program entry.
The Commended Students from KHS are Jake Bruns and Olivia Moody.
About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2022 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2022 competition by taking the 2020 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT-NMSQT).
Jake is the son of Pam and Tom Bruns. He plans to study Finance in college and is hoping to play basketball. He is currently looking at Hillsdale College, Hanover College, Capital University, Waynesburg University, and Belmont University. Jake plays Varsity basketball and has a 4.58 GPA.
Olivia is planning on seeking a Double Major in Biology and Psychology. She is still deciding between Case Western Reserve University, the University of Michigan, Washington University, and the University of Cincinnati. Her GPA is 4.42. Olivia is the daughter of Kathleen and Chris Moody.
Congratulations and good luck to Jake and Olivia!
