Dear Students and Families of the Class of 2024,

Hope this finds you well during these final weeks of remote learning for the 2019-2020 school year.

As the coordinator of the Kings Community Service Program, I would like to introduce you to the service requirements for graduation from Kings High School. Normally, I would be meeting with the class in person to discuss the program so this is my attempt to get some information into your hands.

Starting on May 22, 2020, the Class of 2024 will be enrolled in Kings High School's community service program.  You may begin to earn community service hours towards the 50 hour graduation requirement during the summer heading into your freshman year.

We want our program to open your eyes to the needs of the community around you so one half of those hours MUST be with a non-profit agency not related to Kings High School.  Our school website https://www.kingslocal.net/high-school/community-service-24/  provides additional information if you need some guidance to find a non-profit agency.  Please note: the supervisor of your activity may not be your own parent.

Kings keeps track of your hours by using an account that Inspiring Services provides to our district for free.

Activate your service resume:
If you would like to activate your service account, you may do so now at the following link:  my.InnerView.org.  Once you've linked to the page, you will select the light blue phrase at the bottom of your screen that states:

You will need to upload a SELFIE that has only you in the picture.  Please make sure it does not have any filters or silly gestures, such as sticking out your tongue.

Your account was created with your school email: 24flastname.kingslocal.net

We recommend your PASSWORD to be your school lunch code.  It is something you will remember for the next four years.  Once you create the account, you "own" it.  I only have the ability to view your resume and take information from your resume; I can not change your account information.

The attached Innerview-Getting Started sheet shows what the screens will look like when you begin your resume and enter an actual activity.  It also provides details of awards that can be earned from Inspiring Service throughout your high school career.

Completing a service activity?  You Serve...You Upload to your resume

If you deem it is safe to do a service project this summer, you will return to this webpage, select the blue plus sign, and upload the pertinent information.

For EVERY ENTRY, you need the following information:

Here is a 2-minute video that will introduce you to the Global Goals of Sustainable Development:  https://youtu.be/tVzm38t-SG0

In words, it looks a little overwhelming but I promise the system of recording your hours is very simple.  Trust me...in a blink of an eye, you will be presenting your Senior Service Reflection highlighting all the great things you did as a volunteer in our community.

Stay safe!  I look forward to meeting all of you next school year.  Please don't hesitate to reach out with any service questions to me.

Yours in service,
Lynn Brant
