Public Records Requests
Kings Local School District is committed to transparency and follows the Ohio Public Records Act (Ohio Revised Code 149.43). Members of the public may request to inspect or receive copies of district public records.
How to Submit a Request
Public records requests are handled by the Treasurer's Office. The easiest way to submit a request is by email.
Submit Requests To
Mike Morrow, Treasurer
Email: mmorrow@kingslocal.net
Mail: Kings Local School District, Attn: Treasurer, 1797 King Ave, Kings Mills, OH 45034
Requests may also be made by phone, by mail, or in person. Please describe the records you are looking for clearly enough for the district to identify and locate them, including dates, names, or subjects where you can. You are not required to put your request in writing, provide your name, or explain how you plan to use the records.
What to Expect
- Records are available for inspection during regular business hours, except published holidays. Records will be made available for inspection promptly, and copies will be provided within a reasonable period of time, depending on the volume of the request and any legal review needed.
- If a request is unclear, the district will explain how its records are kept so you can revise the request.
- Some records, or parts of records, are exempt from release under state or federal law. If a request is denied or a record is redacted, the district will explain why and cite the legal authority.
Costs
You will be charged only the actual cost of providing copies.
- Paper copies: 5 cents per page
- Records sent by email: no charge
- Records mailed to you: actual cost of postage and mailing supplies
Records Request Log
In the interest of transparency, the district publishes a running list of the public records requests it has received.
