English as a Second Language Program

English as a Second Language (ESL) is a program that supports English Language Learners (ELLs) in their process to achieve English language proficiency with instruction in the four language domains: reading, writing, listening and speaking.  A student-centered instructional approach is preferred, in order to best meet the needs of our ELLs who are entering the program at various stages of language acquisition.

Kings Local School District provides services to students with limited English proficiency to help them be more successful in their mainstream classes and meet the challenging state standards required of all students. Students will receive instruction according to their English language proficiency level in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
