Welcome to JFB!
I am excited to welcome you to Kings Local School District and J.F. Burns Elementary.
JFB is a learning community of 850 students from kindergarten through fourth grade.
Our students are supported by a group of dedicated teachers and support staff along with our PTO organization and community partners. We strive to work together to provide rigorous learning opportunities that allow each student to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Communication from school to home is very important to us. Parents will receive a weekly newsletter every Friday afternoon via email. Please let the school office know if you are not receiving this newsletter.
JFB has received many honors and awards such as:
- The United States Department of Education selected JFB with its highest honor, by naming it a National Blue Ribbon School.
- JFB was designated an “Overall A” school by the Ohio Department of Education.
- The Ohio Department of Education also awarded JFB with the Purple Star designation for supporting military families.
- JFB was selected as a Hall of Fame school; an honor for the top-performing schools in the state.
- On the 2022-2023 Ohio School Report Card JFB received an overall rating of 5 stars. Five stars is the highest rating possible that states JFB significantly exceeds state standards
- JFB has been ranked in the top 7% of Ohio Elementary schools by U.S. News & World Report
We are very proud of these honors and awards and will continue to build on these successes.
